As a Restorative Practices Facilitator and Trainer with the International Institute of Restorative Practices (IIRP) since 2015, I have extensive experience in Restorative Practices and Restorative Conferencing. I have dedicated countless hours to training and facilitating conversations aimed at building community, repairing harm, and restoring relationships and have had a significant impact within the State College Area School District, Penn State, and the broader Central PA community.
I can tailor your training to meet the unique needs and challenges of your workplace setting/community. Both in-person and online training opportunities exist.
Restorative practices are a range of approaches, strategies, and techniques that focus on building and repairing relationships, fostering empathy, and resolving conflicts through a trauma informed lens and in a constructive manner. These practices are based on principles of restorative justice, which instead of focusing on punishment, emphasizes the importance of addressing harm and wrongdoing by involving all parties affected and working together to find solutions that promote accountability and healing. RP focus on making things right and reintegrating the person(s) who caused the harm back into the community, armed with the skills and awareness to make better decisions in the future.

Training Options

Introduction to Restorative Practices: Philosophy & Framework
This first part of the training explores the fundamental principles, philosophy, theories, practices, models, and skills of restorative practices

Using Circles: Building Community & Informal Restoration Practices
In this training, special emphasis is placed on proactive circles (to build community) and responsive circles (to respond to harm) and the informal application of these processes will be explored. Participants will be given the opportunity to practice planning circles

Restorative Conferencing: Formal Restoring of Relationships When Harm Is Done
This training is focused on more specific skills and processes and can only be implemented after Introduction to RP training and Using Circles training
